This game avoids the shortcomings of Mega Man 8 by keeping the background in the background and leaving the screen clear. The game does so much with lovely animation and the most expressive characters in any Mega Man game thus far. The game looks gorgeous for how simplistic and minimalistic it is.
However Mega Man 11 is an absolute success. The story behind this game is great as the role of being the director of the next Mega Man game was so intimidating that no one really wanted to take it in the case that they don't succeed. Mega Man 11's announcement felt like both an acknowledgment of Mega Man's lack of love from Capcom over the years as well as a response to the failure of Mighty No. I've played tons of notoriously difficult games since I first played Mega Man and figured I was at a place in my life where I could beat at least one stage of Mega Man.80% Nintendo SwitchI love this franchise so much. Mega Man 11, to me, was a chance to redeem myself.
Mega Man still stands as the only game that has made me so angry that I broke something. I became so angry I threw the controller down. I attempted the stage over and over for hours, getting increasingly frustrated at the platforming and enemies that I just couldn't seem to get past. I booted it up with my glossy, white, Wii Classic Controller in hand and jumped into my first stage, selecting Cut Man because his portrait was in the top left. It was the first one, which originally came out in 1987 but was later released on the Wii Virtual Console in 2008, which is where I experienced it. I remember the first time I played a Mega Man game.
I finally beat a Normal Mega Man stage thanks to Mega Man 11's helpful difficulties that made a previously unapproachable series much, much more approachable. The Fuse Man stage is all about avoiding painful shocks.
